Mile-a-minute blocks

Another scrap-busting idea for you. Visit Quilting Is My Passion where there is a tutorial on a really quick technique for making up scrap blocks, a cross between log cabin and crazy patchwork. The photo is a great example of what can be achieved from Scraps In Progress.

A visitor from Canada

Hi to Rose Marie in Toronto, Canada who is keenly watching the progress of our bag lady - as we all are! Visit Rose Marie at her blog, Applique & Patches. Check out her lovely version of the bucket tote bag and a very nice pinwheel bag she has made using charm squares.

New friends

We have some lovely new friends who have left comments recently. Hi to Dragonfly Crafts who is 'just up the road' from us. Be sure to visit her blog and say hello.

And from further afield - the Netherlands can you believe it?! - a big 'gidday' to Sonnja. Her personal blog can be found here. Sonnja makes these gorgeous little teddies (called 'Beertje Zonn') for Aids orphans in less privileged countries such as Uganda.

If you would like to support Sonnja in her work, she is asking for donations of fabric to make her Beertje Zonn. Each little bear takes 12" x 24" of fabric. If you are interested in donating some fabric then please visit Sonnja's Beertje Zonn blog and send her an email.

Need a gift for a new baby?

How about these cute little baby shoes? Find a tutorial & pattern for these at Stardust Shoes.

Or perhaps these ones at HELLO my name is Heather.

We had a bit of a draw last Sunday - Moda Jelly Roll, and Pat was the lucky winner, but there was a bit of mmmm....well.....Joanie thought maybe she should have won the roll!!!!!

The golf ladies are busy again.

Dale and Joan are once again on a bit of a roll this is the third year they have made a quilt to raffle for the Narromine Lady Golfers - this year I think is the 70th Anniversary, so they have made a "Mumms Scrappy Quilt" Kerry Swain Design - Cottage on the Hill - lots of money will be raised from this raffle.

Our Girl Joan

Well, nothing stops this old girl, every week she turns up with a completed project. What inspiration our girl Joanie is.....

A Most Enjoyable Sunday

We had a good roll up yesterday at quilting, lovely to catch up with Gail, and it was great to have Carol back with us, who has been so busy lately with visitors. Just to show we are very busy little bees on our Sundays and we don't just around and eat and drink coffee and chat and generally have a lovely time, we also do some work.....a few happy snaps of the group.

Anyone up for a challenge?

You'll need to dust off your drafting skills for this one! It is a free carpet bag pattern from Burda. Find it here. A cute pattern - but not one that fits into the 'quick & easy' category I suspect.
